Degenerations: Museum of Youth Culture

  • Unique Clarke

I worked as a Curator with the Museum of Youth Culture. In this role I helped them in the creation of their 'Digital Youth Festival.' Part of my role included: acquiring artistic material, interviewing creatives, hosting discussion panels and writing for their website.

DeGenerations Digital Festival celebrated youth culture across generations, finding solidarity -not division - between youth subcultures past and present.
We explored the key themes of resistance and rebellion, family ties and individual identity. More importantly, we discussed the universal experiences of growing up - from fitting in to standing out, and standing up for what we believe in!

As part of the festival I contributed to the website with my own project, titled 'Outspoken.' I worked with spoken word artists, rappers, poets and musicians to contribute to the theme of resilience.
