Dentistry tools

2nd year project. This model was made at home with limited resources due to the first pandemic lockdown. This project was made to sit along an essay I wrote that discusses the trust we put into the truth telling in museums. It talks about whether artefact refurbishment and replication being used to represent the real item is still telling the audience the truth as well as the information that sits along side them. As the image that shows the description on the model describes there are 5 dentistry tools on display but only 4 are real tools from back in the 1800-1900's, the other is one I have taken out of context and hidden as a dentists tool. Each tool and the teeth are sculpted out of milliput and filed and sanded into their final shape. Then I hand painted them to look old and rusted.
