About me
I am a 3rd year Model maker at Arts University Bournemouth. I am a creative, motivated, and passionate model maker and artist who is excited and eager to learn new skills and take on work in the creative industry. I am a creative maker who has skills and understanding of multiple disciplines from sculpting, moulding and casting too machining, metal work, hand made processes and photography. I have a love for realism, clean finishes, and projects that require a commitment to detail. From my previous model making roles I have learnt that no matter the job, I love working in teams of like minded people. After taking on different retail roles whilst studying at university I have adapted to working within fast paced customer orientated environments as well as exercising strict time management skills to balance work and education. Through both my retail and academic roles I have upheld a no job too small attitude, I enjoy being busy no matter the job. Outside interests include photorealism painting and digital art as well as learning new skills such as wood carving and sewing. Whether its for educational, work related or personal use Im always looking to expand my skills and take my career to the next level.
Projects
  • FAB28 ruby red Smeg fridge
FAB28 ruby red Smeg fridge3rd year project. This was made for an external brief project in which I worked with the head of marketing at Smeg UK. 1:5 scaled FAB28 ruby red Smeg fridge replica of one of the London window displays made by Trick of the eye. The model is a replica made to be displayed in Smeg UK's head office to show off their past creative advertising. The fridge itself has been made from model board, the rounded edges hand sanded using a jig I made to ensure each edge is the same. The splash has been sc
  • Dentistry tools
Dentistry tools2nd year project. This model was made at home with limited resources due to the first pandemic lockdown. This project was made to sit along an essay I wrote that discusses the trust we put into the truth telling in museums. It talks about whether artefact refurbishment and replication being used to represent the real item is still telling the audience the truth as well as the information that sits along side them. As the image that shows the description on the model describes there are 5 den
  • Ariss Nike Shoe Sole
Ariss Nike Shoe Sole2nd year project. This project was a no CAD project. Everything had to be hand cut or hand machined. As the process images below show, the bulk of the shoes was cut our of modelboard on a bandsaw and each layer of the tread was hand cut with a scalpel and individually glued together out of 2mm and 1mm styrene sheets. Personally I prefer to do things by hand, it feels a lot more personal than having a machine CNC everything. I really enjoyed this project. I got into a good routine that kept m
  • Handcuffs
Handcuffs2nd year project. The brief was to produce a model using wordplay as the subject. The model is made by casting my hands in alginate then brushing the mould with aluminium powder, as well as mixing into the fast cast. Then creating a shell of resin by rota casting, which allowed me to limit the amount of resin pigment I used for the whole project when filling in the rest of the hand. To finish off the model I added the lock hole detail by laser cutting two acrylic pieces and cutting and filing
  • The Meridian Gate Tower, London
The Meridian Gate Tower, London2nd year project. 1:100 scaled architectural model of The Meridian Gate Tower in London. Each floor is individually laser cut with different colours representing the type of floor within the building, surrounded by clear etched acrylic cladding. The base was created by producing a styrene version and using an alginate mould, casting it in concrete with a layer of cork to produce a clean finish to the cast. Each element represents real world materials of the building. Acrylic for glass, concr
  • Mini skills projects
Mini skills projects2nd year project. These two project were one week group tasks that allowed us to learn how to use a laser cutter and the CAD software used to produce the cutting files and testing how to use platinum cure silicone. Based on prompts given to us, for example, supersonic utopia for the laser cutting task and the word mystic for the sculpt, mould and cast project.
