Handcuffs

2nd year project. The brief was to produce a model using wordplay as the subject. The model is made by casting my hands in alginate then brushing the mould with aluminium powder, as well as mixing into the fast cast. Then creating a shell of resin by rota casting, which allowed me to limit the amount of resin pigment I used for the whole project when filling in the rest of the hand. To finish off the model I added the lock hole detail by laser cutting two acrylic pieces and cutting and filing down disks of aluminium sheet to create a clean end to each hand. Adding the chain to connect both sides and completing the handcuff model.
