These are objects created as my undergraduate project. I decided to set my topic on symmetry. Symmetry is always present, in your everyday life, in art, in science and much more. I read a lot about it, but I wanted to look for very special cases of symmetry. I felt like a detective hunting down special cases of symmetry which led me to create a hard boiled detective style for this project.
I created a book that is organised like a detective report with its different files. In this book I distinguished five special cases of symmetry, which I picked out of different fields. These five cases were demonstrated on five 'pieces of evidence'. Those pieces of evidence were shown at an exhibition prepared like the scene of a crime. The tools for the detective of symmetry became branded with a logo consisting of common and iconic detectives tools like magnifier glass and a pipe. The business cards are one of those tools, which you can use as a magnifier glass. Additionally I created a briefcase and stamp which looks like a signet ring.
