Dia De Los Muertos

The project theme was  fantasy, storytelling, constructing identity. I really liked this theme, infact this was one of my favourite assignments because I liked the idea of having to do a themed shoot.
I felt that my final outcomes were shot to theme. This is because the theme was ‘Day of the dead’ or as they say in Spanish ‘Día de los Muertos’ which focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died, and help support their spiritual journey.
The most interesting and fun part of this project was, right before the shoot, I liked seeing the make-up being done, hair, outfit, those were the most fun parts because that’s when I realised the shoot is happening and that this will be a good photo shoot. I don’t think I’ve experienced any new techniques, the only thing I think I have experienced is the way my brain works when I need to tell the model how to pose, I think I get more creative now than I did before. I think I would also like to develop this further so I have a variety of ideas when it comes to telling my model how to stand, pose.
