Digital Literacy explores the impact and influence that different platforms and even methodologies can have on the reading experience itself. In this project the developed algorithm analysed the word frequency of literary works. Using it's output data, another algorithm generated a correspondent synopsis and book cover. Thus linking the digital concepts of keyword generation and hypertext to the classic physical book format.
The project started with an interest for the ambiguous and challenging universe where the analog and digital merge to create something new, where digital tools help us to produce new and unexpected material. A program capable of giving voice to a text and from there creating an image to inform the reader about its content. A cover created from data provided by words that constitute the text rather than someone’s interpretation.
We know that the reading experience has been transformed, the challenge is how we can respond to this finding.
