dior and warhol

In this project, I wanted to imagine what would happen if Dior had the chance to meet Andy Warhol in person. Thinking about the similarities of both creators, I decided to focus on flowers which were a strong theme for both of the artists. Christian Dior is well known for celebrating feminity with botanical references. His passion for flowers started at an early age when he was exploring his family's garden. This experience continued to inspire him throughout his career what can be seen in many of his dresses which often use intricate flowery references. Andy Warhol also created a magnitude of various screen prints of flowers and infused his creations with his signature bright colours and edgy feel. By combining those two themes together I created Spring/Summer collection of haute couture dresses. Inspired by pop art flowers of Andy Warhol, I design my very own version of pop art flowers and turn it into print that pays tribute to Dior's legacy and continues to celebrate feminity in a graceful and stylish manner.
