Global fashion house, Christian Dior, worked closely with Schenti Studios - the luxury textile producer - to create handmade jacquard throws and furniture for their historic 2023 Fall Men’s Collection, showcased outside the great pyramids of Egypt. The collection was inspired by the notion of Futuristic Savoir Faire and the textiles brief encompassed the same harmony of contemporary design with the artisan history of ancient pharaohs. Schenti Studios was provided with Dior’s renowned ‘CD’ diamond pattern and after a series of testing the bespoke pattern was created. The jacquard throws featured handmade tassels knitted by Egyptian Artisans as well as an embroidery of Christian Dior's logo. For the 2023 fall runway, Schenti Studios also provided custom-made furniture including modular sofas, first row cushions with back and backless cushions. These consisted of a bespoke handmade blend of earth tone Egyptian cotton-linen fabric woven by our in-house artisans in Luxor. The process paid homage to ancient Egyptian textile production techniques, traditional wooden machinery activated by both hands and feet created an intricate piece of art. Schenti Studios is a collaborative procurement and design studio manufacturing high quality woven textiles from Egypt offering a wide range of luxurious fabrics used for interiors and fashion, soft furnishings, and furniture.
