DJ 1991 Pitch concept designs

This was a concept for DJ 1991. The brief was to design four single labels, which would be released consecutively with the theme of 'Dusk to Dawn'. The concept I came up with was based on the movement of the earth on it's axis, around the sun - which causes the different times of day (dusk, nightfall, midnight, dawn). These names are to correspond to the names of the singles which are to be released this year. My artwork wasn't chosen - but it's one of my favourite designs, so I wanted to share it.
