To celebrate 50 years of the longest-running TV sci-fi series in the world, Doctor Who took over Heathrow T5. I created a series of innovative backgrounds for this iconic brand’s #WhereDoYouWantToGo social media campaign. One of my ideas involved the creation of TARDIS photobooths that were scattered around Heathrow.
This allowed fans to interact with The Doctor, Daleks, Cybermen and other memorable characters from the show, which were projected onto different backgrounds. This enabled fans to take home their own personal piece of Doctor Who history - thus creating a sense of ownership which cemented the consumers' relationship with the brand. I also created the environmental wall graphics plus interactive experiences to work alongside genuine props and memorabilia from Britain’s best-loved drama series.
Another of my ideas for the interactive experience involved utilising augmented reality, whereby fans were able to see 3D images (based around my designs) leap out at them via their mobile phone screens.
