Dogpod was created in response to a fundraising by the charity Blue Cross, who specialise in animal welfare. Blue Cross contacted a number of architects, designers and artists to create a dog kennel to be auctioned off for charity.
The brief was broad; to create a dog kennel with originality, safety, sustainability, practicality, interactivity and flexibility.From the very beginning, practicality was a key focus. Dogpod needed to look good, but unlike many existing kennels, it needed to be more than just an empty shell.
