ECAtoday is the official magazine of ECA (Electrical Contractors' Association) and reaches nearly 100K readers within the electrotechnical and engineering services industry. It is read by key audiences, which include large and SME contractors, consultants, specifiers, engineers and electricians, along with other policy and decision-makers. The Problems...
  • Same design for at least 5 years
  • Want to reach a new -and younger - audience
  • Technological and cultural advances have altered editorial content
  • Editorial and creative team feels bored, are repeating themes and are having difficulty fitting new ideas into the current format of the magazine
  • Design and brand is straight-up outdated
In 2019 ECA partners with Voltimum in re-branding ECAtoday and merger of SmartElectrician (SE) magazine. SE magazine - launched by me and distributed by Voltimum - was pioneered by me, responsible for creative direction, quality, content, print, distribution, and marketing; SE was a success.
Due to SE's success, the magazine was used as leverage to close an exclusive media partner contract with ECA. SE was then published under the name of 'Smart Solutions' - embedded as a section of ECAtoday magazine - and continued to educate, inform, and help electrotechnical and other specialist businesses understand the potential digital impact on the market.
