Eel pie island

Eel Pie Island, required me to research and analyse times and styles of the 60s and 70s to create my own sofa style proposal. I used different media to explore my ideas and one of them was paper. My motivation for using leftover paper, rather than throwing it away, is my concern about the current environmental situation. I am determined to design using sustainable materials and techniques with a minimal effect on the environment. I used Photoshop on my clay models to create sofas in different colour styles. I made use of the vivid colours of the 60s and 70s while considering what colours would suit for the cushions and sofa and how they would match together. I decided to use flowers patterns because I think that it recalls and connect closer to nature that in my opinion, would give a calm and soothing atmosphere to a room.
