Elizabeth's Lost Dress

  • Yasmin Aldrich

Within my work, I enjoy researching and creating ways to encourage people to interact with subjects that they might not have previously taken an interest in. This series of illustrations, which I developed into an exhibition pamphlet, is inspired by my research into the beautifully embroidered Bacton Altar Cloth. It was recently discovered that the piece, which was exhibited at Hampton Court Palace earlier in the year, was originally a dress owned by Elizabeth I. I've always been a lover of history, and have tried to put my own fresh spin it using my playful designs against information.
