European Cities

At a similar time to undertaking this project, I had done a lot of travelling around Europe visiting cities. I felt a surge of inspiration by the culture in each of these places and found my love for travel to grow. I wanted to translate a feeling into art. I looked into the architecture and physically translated the illustrations I recorded, but also tried to convey a sense of feeling which is evident in the more abstract pieces. I wanted to communicate the bustling and liveliness of a city centre, which I did through recording mark makings and textures also being expressive with how I used them in prints.
