A fresh new shopify store for fashaddictldn shoreditch by Wale.

OVERVIEW

We were approached by Wale to create a new Shopify store for the launch of his new fashion outlet. We met up and over a few discussions we formulated a design direction and plan for crafting this new vision online.

OUR PLAN IN MOTION - PROCESS

The team work best when under pressure, the site needed to be designed and delivered on a speedy turnaround. From initial design layouts by Tyler the table was set, with early client feedback from Wale and the team we pushed these designs so that they hit the mark.Pushing the boundaries of Shopify we set out to create a bright and engaging user experience from the initial create direction, we presented new layouts that matched our design thinking while working efficiently as an online store.Working within Photoshop our designs we’re easily adaptable. A client review and discussion of the colour direction of the new shop we all felt that these felt too much. We progressed the visuals with a grey border and tones of pink and blue, keeping the original flavour typography and image noise style. After design sign off the team opened up their developer toolkit to integrate the latest visuals within Shopify. Using Shopify’s desktop theme editor it's quick and efficient to start testing out features and responsive breakpoints within the browser. Shopify’s management system makes it simple for clients to add and edit products all while being able to tweak website content.

WHAT WE MADE

We we’re involved from the initial meetings through to completion, we wanted to create what was best for the target audience and give Wale and his team the best possible opportunity using our experience to generate sales and traffic. Here’s what we made.
  • Website
  • › Homepage
  • › Product List
  • › Product Details

HOW WE MADE IT BETTER

On going live the site was further tested and tweaked for SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). We made a number of speed related improvements to the html, css and javascript. We’ll keep an eye on how the user analytics perform so we can make data driven suggestions on further updates that’ll benefit Fashaddictldn.

WHAT WE LEARNED

The design process went through a few iterations and a bit of confusion was raised when presenting the visuals regarding the white space around key elements. As the final build was responsive the white space organically shifts depending on device width. This is something we could have communicated better and shown respectively within a prototype.
