Fast Company – Typographic Spread

Fast Company is a leading business publication with an editorial focus on innovation in technology, ethonomics, leadership and design. They commissioned Superfried to create an opening typographic spread for their feature on World Changing Design.
In the brief they had referenced a visual generated for our typeface Twist and the poster developed for Superfried's 6th birthday. With this in mind potential routes developing these styles were explored.
After numerous iterations the final solution was found by simply combining both referenced styles. With the letterforms based on simple geometric shapes they were relatively quick to develop, where as the styling was rather more time consuming. Experimentation with off-setting concentric keylines led to the striking, pseudo 3D / op-art effect selected.
This project was awarded in the Regional Print Magazine design awards 2016.
