hand-selected group of international designers were invited to participate, broadening Fedrigoni’s 366 project reach even further. I was assigned a green colour palette, with these shuffling colours influencing my design, deciding upon 5 of the 10 colours in my design. What feels particularly different about this year’s edition is the collaboration between myself the designer and print technology, that sees the former give up full control of how colour is expressed in my design. I was assigned March 31st. My hand drawn number takes inspiration from soundwaves and grooves pressed on 45rpm records, as an ode to the introduction of the 7 inch vinyl on this day in 1949. Used for the first time at this unprecedented scale, the HP Mosaic tool has applied algorithms to randomly shuffle colours within each design to make different combinations in each book. These designs are printed to range of specially treated white papers from Fedrigoni’s Digital for HP Indigo® printing collection. Book design by TM Studio.
