'Fifty Shades of Real' Podcast

Throughout my first year of university, I co-presented Leeds Student Radio’s ‘BME show’, one of the radio station’s core shows, which gives a voice to the experiences of Black, Asian and other minority ethnic students on campus. In my second year of university. This experience paved the way to me producing and presenting my own weekly radio show called ‘Fifty Shades of Real’, which also featured debates and discussions surrounding socio-political issues. The show included talks on current affairs, race, gender, politics and society. Both opportunities refined my ability to communicate information concisely and coherently when presenting, and gave me experience in planning show schedules – from structuring interviews to organising a queue of songs for intervals.
