Figure Sculpture Project

A seven-week project delivered to Years 3 & 4, which introduced the children to many aspects of sculpture, including: - the possibilities of sculpture, especially in terms of materials and scale - the figure as a subject - Abstract art in relation to the figure - types of sculptural display Alongside material exploration, artist research and discussion of the themes, each child participated in a 'sustained make', during which they produced a figure sculpture involving many artistic processes and techniques, such as creating a wire armature.
