Final Major Project

  • Lisa Peryer
From a young age I grew up going on long country walks and hearing my Grandads love for gardening, so flowers have always been a major inspiration for my work. The scientific detail used in old botanical illustrations influences my collection in the way that I draw and embroider. I have produced a collection of silk and paper bags using a variety of sewing and embroidery techniques, including freehand machine embroidery and natural dyeing. Using flowers to dye natural fibres has been a very exciting part of my project. Each bag has been repaired using hand stitching and traditional mending techniques referencing ‘Bags for Life’.
