Finchley Central Art

  • Joseph Godzikowski

This was my first freelance project, and despite the nerves and things I would tweak if I had options to test print, I still really enjoyed the experience and am pleased with the concept. The idea combines 2 traditional art forms from 2 prevalent cultures local to the area–Jewish micrography and Persian rug weaving—in answer to a key aim of the brief, to reflect local culture and suggest community. Originally the name of the gallery was Finchley Central Art Space, but 'Space' was dropped for the larger text very last minute. However, the poster design maintained the initials FCAS in each corner and it was agreed the small print could remain Finchley Central Art Space.
