Finding a gifted graphic designers' voice

I was approached by my client to give his design portfolio a voice. Clearly an incredibly gifted graphic designer, Rob wanted me to craft personable content that wasn't 'in the face' of prospective clients. The brief was for it to be informal and 'non-salesy'.
