Font Design: LORENZ

  • Mikaela Birath

The font is based on the Lorenz machine, used during the second world war by the British intelligence. It encrypted and decrypted messages and helped shorten the war by several years. When typing lowercase letters a coded version of the letters appear in the form of the Baudot code, which was used in the Lorenz Machine. Only people with access to the downloaded font will be able to decode a message. Writing in uppercase produce the actual letters. Contact for font download availability. I had the honor of bening mentioned by Fontsmith, for my typeface "Lorenz", in the blogpost about their collaboration with Middlesex University and our brief. Thank you Pedro and Phil!
