A branding project for a vintage bus hire company. Research highlighted how vintage buses each have a distinctive style that represents their history and era, with 95% of the customer base being Brides & Grooms, I decided to take advantage of each buses personalities by fitting it in with the most popular wedding styles and themes. This developed to the sub-branding of each bus within the fleet- producing names, choosing fonts, colour schemes and also producing individual illustrations; incorporating history, personality and nostalgia into the sub-brand of each bus so that it suited the theme of the audiences special day. The branding was heavily influenced by vintage design; especially by the rounded edges and curved lines that are present on the buses. Vintage colour schemes, vintage style graphics such as ribbons, badges and icons, and a mixture of typefaces. Research also indicated how dominate craft is in vintage style weddings; for invitations, table settings, and decorations. I therefore wanted to make sure I used this crafty theme in elements of my brands external presence. Although centred around the vector illustrations, this branding project went on to include print design in the form of booklets, leaflets and business cards, and also digital design in the form of a responsive website.
