Freeganise Me

  • Myah Calista
Recording research into food waste, particularly in Bristol and taking inspiration from the documentaries Supersize me and Superhigh me, we wanted to experience what it was like to be a Freegan. We did this by going on regular bin drives, mostly proving unsuccessful as many supermarkets destroy disposed food. Since the documentary we have all continued to skip dive using this otherwise wasted food to cook. The closing credits were inspired by the opening credits of Napoleon Dynamite, using the plate to convey a message, in our case post dinner. We created a soundtrack using nothing but kitchen appliances, utensils, and our instruments made from recycled objects which can be heard at 4.4..
The project included DVD package, CD graphic, information and photos about the film as well as a how to guide and free bin key to help people help target food waste.
