Friendship ball brand identity and creative

  • Sharon Leese
Friendship ball is an event that is run by Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and The Children’s Medical & Research Foundation at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin. The branding needed to represent the partnership between the London and Dublin hospitals while also representing their values.

The Claddagh ring has symbolism and connotations that are well suited to the relationship of the hospitals and their service to the their patients. Celtic style graphics are used a lot in Claddagh ring designs and sometimes used to depict the hands in the symbol.

The Celtic symbol for trinity (triquetra) has many meanings. The ones that stood out to me were:
Spirit, Mind, Body. Mother, Father, Child. Past, Present, Future. Power, Intellect, Love.
