About me
Sharon is a freelance designer, photographer and illustrator living and working in London, UK, with over 4 years industry experience. After graduating from university, Sharon began working for a design agency in Leeds. After over a year, she made the move to London and began working as a designer in the third sector, while also gaining valuable experience as a photographer. Three years on and she has taken the leap into the world of freelancing, "Being creative is not just my job, it’s a huge part of my life. I love creating work that is beautiful and functional."

  • Magazine - Member Matters
Magazine - Member MattersMember Matters is a magazine for the Foundation Trust and the Young Peoples Forum. This is packed with news updates, interviews, case studies and more. It has to appeal to young people ranging from as young as eight, to 21. I decided to use bright colours combined with overlapping shapes, and tried not to be cliché with the imagery and graphics used in a youth publication. I also did the cover photography and featured article photography too.
  • Summer fundraising poster
Summer fundraising posterI was tasked with creating a summer inspired poster to help encourage and give ideas to corporate partners. The content includes potential summer themed fundraising activities. I decided to create an illustration led poster, and to keep it fresh and vibrant. The illustrations I created could be applied to the event materials advertised in the poster, meaning that the whole range would tie in to this design.
  • Look Inside - Pledge Card
Look Inside - Pledge CardI had to create a pledge card for a fundraising event. I decided to create something playful to both represent and remind people of the cause. The o’s were die cut from the word ‘Look’ on the front cover and allowed a sneak peak of the inside.
  • Schools branding and creative
Schools branding and creativeThe branding needed to appeal to such a wide audience, ranging from the age you begin school, through to the potential age of staff and parents. The idea was to create branding that could be fun and practical. In order to achieve this, I made use of shapes and colours to please a younger audience, but added a few graphic elements and techniques in order to make it stand out to adults too. the overprint effect used, created a lot of interest with shape and letter forms, allowing them to become an individual piece of work in itself, and allowing more stripped back, slick branding for letters/brochures etc.
