The Cinemas of PIIGS: A New Wave Beyond the Great Recession
My project is the first to investigate the effects of Great Recession on the cinemas of the most indebted European countries known as PIIGS (Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greece, and Spain) and to explore key research questions regarding its impact on film narratives, aesthetic/ideological choices, production processes, and cinematic techniques.
