Future Artists Nottingham was a collaborative project based in Nottingham. The project consisted of a number of workshops in a school in Nottingham city centre, which culminated in a group show at Nottingham Trent University. The aim of the project was to encourage a set of students who were mostly very disillusioned with art (their sole knowledge based on what they learnt at school) and to show them how exciting and engaging art can be. The success of the project for me, was not measured on how fantastic the workshops were, or how creative and engaging the final exhibition was, which they both were, but on the number of pupils who now said they would be taking art for GCSE and intend to carry it on in higher education.
