About me
I am a highly creative individual with a keen eye for detail. I have a huge amount of experience within visual art; curation, collaboration and the various stages of project production. I am a very hands on person, who will be comfortable working in all areas of a project from the ideas generation, to the design and the physical making to the pr/marketing and funding side. I am passionate about contemporary visual art, fashion, photography, theatre and literature, I currently support a immersive theatre project, a brighton-based pop-up gallery production and run art workshops. I am very professional and keen to learn. I work well in groups and individually, I would hopefully be an asset to any creative team.
Projects
  • Milk No Sugar
Milk No SugarMilk No Sugar was a collaborative project that explored ideas of hyper-femininity, sexuality, stereotypes and gender. Collaborating with six other female artists, the work was a diverse range from sculpture and installation to video and performance. It posed questions to the viewer asking them to consider their own perception of sexuality, to reflect upon what they perceived to be feminine, within an environment that was brazenly representative of the hyper-feminine stereotype; with visual, oral
  • Future Artists Nottingham
Future Artists NottinghamFuture Artists Nottingham was a collaborative project based in Nottingham. The project consisted of a number of workshops in a school in Nottingham city centre, which culminated in a group show at Nottingham Trent University. The aim of the project was to encourage a set of students who were mostly very disillusioned with art (their sole knowledge based on what they learnt at school) and to show them how exciting and engaging art can be. The success of the project for me, was not measured on how fantastic the workshops were, or how creative and engaging the final exhibition was, which they both were, but on the number of pupils who now said they would be taking art for GCSE and intend to carry it on in higher education. http://www.ntu.ac.uk/apps/news/141192-38/NTU_Future_Artists_Nottingham.aspx
  • Gallery on Wheels
Gallery on WheelsGallery on Wheels was the most recent project i have been involved with. In collaboration with Pop-up Brighton and Somewhereto_ , Gallery on Wheels was a roaming interactive art display that allowed artists to sell their work, while being engaged with people from the community. The week long project allowed people to enter the space and engage with the work within an unconventional setting. I was involved in a durational art piece, involving the public and the transfer of transient drawing onto more permantant embroidery. It was a wonderful collaboration that really engaged the young people of Brighton and provided them with another example of contemporary art practise. https://www.facebook.com/events/1477771892463465/

Work history
    Practising Visual Artist
I currently work as a practising artist, collaborating on a freelance basis with a number of projects across the South East. I would like to find a more permanent position and find a creative company to work for, to really make use of my skills and passion for all things creative!
    Design Consultant
     -
I worked as an advisor to clients; providing them with advice and assistance regarding style, colour and which material for their spaces. This was often space and budget dependant. I created Estimates and Orders; liaised with Head Office and suppliers and ensured the design and installation process went as smoothly as possible. I also was in charge of Visual Merchandising for the showroom, creating visual displays that were informing; promoting the brand and the latest promotion while being engaging and atheistically pleasing.
