The Future Currency project was created from the inspiration of the United Nations 17 sustainable development goals, specifically Goal 13: Climate action.
Future Currency imagines, through a process of worldbuilding, what may the future look like should the goal not succeed, and what from that world could I bring forward. This project speculates of a time when plant life is scarce, and thus a valuable commodity, where healthy plants are traded as currency. This lead to thoughts of what may a wallet based around plant-based currency resemble.
The results from my thinking was a highly portable, secure, self-watering canister for the transport of (in this case, parsley) across a future wilderness.
