Gaga for Dada - the original art rebels

  • Massimo Fenati

To mark the 100th anniversary of Dada, BBC4 commissioned a 1-hour documentary presented by Jim Moir (aka Vic Reeves). I contributed with 13 animated sequences, created as a visual description of all the bits that were missing original footage. I created a visual language that was in line with the collage-like quality of most Dada art and with a level of humour that fitted in with the light-hearted tone of the programme and with the often sarcastic and absurd elements of Dada art itself. Some sequences were produced with footage of Jim Moir on green screen, cut and overlayed on my animations.
