Ghillie's Mum

  • Molly Nowell

“Ghillie only visited her once during those years at the Registry. The warden took him. The Facility wasn’t as nice as the Registry. Everything was painted pale lemon, intended to be clean and bright, but looking anaemic and sick.” Based on a section from Lynda Clark’s short story of the same name, in which a young boy goes to visit his mother and things take an unexpected twist - My intention was to use interesting panelling and messy lines to create a feeling of unease and de-realisation. Created in Adobe Animate, post production in After Effects and Premiere Pro and audio compiled using Adobe Audition.
