Giant Fabricated Apple Sculpture

Make It London fabricated a giant apple sculpture for Barnaby Barford's THIS EARTH OF MAJESTY, THIS SEAT OF MARS art installation in Holland Park as part of KCAW (Kensington + Chelsea Art Week). The creation of the Apple sculpture involved cnc milling the cad from poly, the designing of the internal structure and hardening the fibreglass resin with a gel coat paint finish. Our fabrication is almost 2 metres in diameter and features wrinkles, soft spots and a mushy texture. The apple symbolises Barford examination at those in power and at their shameless desire for more.
