Gismondi

Gismondi are a traditional luxury jewellery brand established in 1754 in Genova (Genoa).

The brand wanted to expand into the UK by opening their first store in Mayfair, London. Before doing this, they wanted to address their lack of brand identity with a complete rebrand.

The logo type is a custom typeface that is based on the signage of Genova from the 18th century. This establishes a link to the historical beginnings of the brand. Looking through the archives, the Gismondi family crest was found, re-drawn and implemented as a logo. A clean and simplistic pallet of black and white was used with highlights of colour inspired by the infamous, colourful sea-front houses of Portofino and Genova.
