The Historic Royal Palaces run a wide range of activities for children all throughout the year but also put on special events during children’s holidays like half term or Easter. Many of the activities are included in the admission charge and offer a fun and exciting way of learning history. 'The Go Medieval at the Tower' festival was created by Learning and Engagement team at HM Tower of London in the delivery of Family Learning activities on site. The tower was brought back in time to 1445 England, celebrating the arrival of a new Queen, Margret of Anjou. Activities for the public included practising the art of pastry jumbles with our medieval cooks, feeling the weight of a real knight’s sword, firing the crossbow, experiencing the latest in medieval fashion in the costume tent and watching knights in full sword-fighting action! 29 April - 1 May 2017
