Ha, Echoes of Diversity [how I made an album, visual album and b-sides on my iPhone]

Like, who wakes up and thinks - one day, I’ll make an album and visual album while sat in a park on my iPhone? Well, that’s exactly what happened. Ha, Echoes of Diversity is about turning perceived weaknesses into strengths, embracing neurodiversity, and exploring the depth of human emotions through music.

Look, I may have performed at the Royal Albert Hall, been in a Church Choir, played guitar at school events, and performed a song I wrote on keyboard in year 6…but I’m rubbish at karaoke now and not exactly the best at piano or guitar. So why make this?

Partly, it's because music is such a powerful tool for storytelling. You can convey so much through the senses that music can activate that can be lost elsewhere.

Creating “Ha, Echoes of Diversity” has been a deeply personal and transformative journey.

Drawing from a book I put together last year, “Beyond Normal” and a framework I've developed called "Social Cognitive Experience", this album represents a fusion of my life experiences, therapy insights from 2022, and my musical upbringing. Each song in this album is a reflection of my journey and a celebration of the diverse experiences that shape us.

2. Ha Ghosh SLAM: A surprising fusion of surnames from a cross-Atlantic collaboration.
3. Hurr HASLAM, pedal faster: Turning workout data from a morning of HIIT followed by an overly ambitious bike ride.
4. Ha[SLAM] Choral Opus Tapestry: An opus celebrating the slams of neurodiversity.
5. Beyond Normal - People, Places, Things: Celebrating the essence of SoCogEx.
6. ADHD in D-Minor: An orchestral piece transitioning to a Hamilton-esque-style song about ADHD.
7. What’s Yo’ Flavour? [Tell me your story]: Celebrating the flavour that can be found in people's stories
8. Summer Anthem of Resilience: A summer anthem from personal reflections.
9. 9th February 2023: Following the white rabbit, an unexpected journey.
10. (Ha)SLAM 170bpm: An upbeat take on the slams of ADHD.
11. Roots of Legacy [Heritage Harmony]: An ancestry graphic transformed into a song.

What This Album Represents
This album is a testament to the power of blending human creativity with advanced technology. It’s about turning perceived weaknesses into strengths, embracing neurodiversity, and exploring the depth of human emotions through music. The songs are crafted with personal lyrics that tell stories of resilience, reflection, and transformation.

How It Was Made
Creating “Ha, Echoes of Diversity” involved a unique approach, combining various tools and technologies:

• Suno.com (iPhone): Turned my ideas into songs, providing a platform for initial song creation.
• GarageBand (iPhone): Captured dreamy sounds from a park in North London and layered them into the tracks.
• iMovie (iPhone): Fused two layers of video with music, applying dreamy filters, slowing the video, and mixing overlay styles.
• Final Cut Pro iPad: Rendered and added more effects and layers to tracks like “Ha Ghosh Slam.”
• DJI Drone: Provided stunning aerial shots to enhance the visual aspect of the album.
• RunWayML, Dream by Wombo & MidJourney: Generated visual content to accompany the music.

New Approaches and Innovations
The album features machined binaural beats and harmonic frequencies designed to create immersive and therapeutic auditory experiences. By leveraging MLCore and Apple’s advanced frameworks, I explored sound and visual layers in new ways. This approach allows the music to sound both familiar and innovative, with rich, personal lyrics.

The Possibilities This Opens Up
Creating music with these technologies opens up endless possibilities for future projects. It allows for more intuitive and responsive music creation, enabling artists to experiment with new sounds and techniques. This project has inspired me to get my guitar out again and explore live performances, blending traditional instruments with modern technology.
