About me
I’m a creative problem solver, imagineer, and immersive storyteller who is passionate about how tech can be used to help tell stories from a human level. With over 16 years of experience working with leading tech companies and startups, I've honed my expertise in developing cutting-edge content and strategies that engage and inspire audiences across various industries. Last year, after burnout and the pandemic, I took some time out and came up with SoCogEx, a recognition of the different ways I view the world, while also symbolising that social cognitive experiences represents where marketing is going through AI and immersive, extended reality (next-gen computing). I'm dedicated to helping clients harness the power of new technologies and creative approaches to storytelling and content creation. With SoCogEx, I want to empower forward-looking brands to engage their audience in innovative and captivating ways, leveraging AI-driven solutions to achieve their goals and drive measurable results. My approach combines traditional creative content with advanced AI tools, focusing on social media, content creation, and thought leadership to help companies, or individuals, unlock their full potential.

When Your Loved Ones Don't "Get" Your Immersive CreationsI was going to ask a question here about advice for when your loved ones don't quite get your work yet, despite it being everything they're also interested in (creative, art, models, film, design etc)...so I asked ChatGPT to write a post. It then went and answered all that I was wondering about.

  • Finding community and teaching social cognitive experience
Finding community and teaching social cognitive experienceBack in July 2022, I had an idea for a new approach to thinking about story telling. This was influenced by my life, my deficits, and finding inner potential with overcoming challenges. The aim is to rethink storytelling, and capture stories in ways that can help heal, or entertain, or share. I want these to be stories people can own, and choose to share. I see this as all being guided by Apple’s example and the work by millions to upskill people for the next generation of computing. But I

Studying PR and advertising at Lincoln University between 2005 and 2009 was a transformative experience for me. During this time, I was able to hone my storytelling skills and gain exposure to creating creative campaigns across different mediums. The course structure provided me with a solid foundation in the theory of PR and advertising, and I was also able to put this knowledge into practice through a variety of projects and case studies. Working at TTA Group as part of my year in industry was a particularly valuable experience, as it gave me exposure to different aspects of the industry. TTA Group delivered digital, events, PR, strategy, and training, which allowed me to gain a broad understanding of the field. I was able to learn from experienced professionals, and I had the opportunity to work on a variety of campaigns for clients. After graduating, I went on to apply my learnings in the tech industry. The skills I had gained in PR and advertising proved to be invaluable, as I was able to create and execute successful campaigns for tech startups. The knowledge I had gained about new and emerging technologies allowed me to stay ahead of the curve and create innovative campaigns that captured the attention of the target audience. Looking back, I realize that my time studying PR and advertising at Lincoln University and working at TTA Group provided me with a strong foundation in the field. The experience taught me the importance of storytelling and creativity in the industry, and it allowed me to develop a versatile skill set that I have been able to apply in a variety of contexts.
