Habits is the second DIY project in which I wrote, recorded and mixed an original composition using DAW software Logic Pro. The project also consisted of an organic promotional campaign in which I attempted to maximise brand exposure without paying for advertisement services. To kick the promotional campaign off I yet again reached out to music bloggers but this time with the aim of advancing from the local blogging websites to larger scale ones with wider audiences. By securing an article with a more popular blog it would promote my release, whilst providing important peer recognition that could help to persuade and validate consumers of the songs playability. By doing so, It would also give more weight to social media promotion and generally help to snowball song plays, brand reach and all round social traffic. Regrettably, after making several attempts, I was unable to establish a spot in any of the blogs that I had contacted. Despite this fairly large setback, I was fortunate enough to receive feedback on my application from one particular writer that would improve my chances of securing an article in the months to follow. Overall, this was not my desired outcome for the promotional campaign however the advice given from this industry professional was extremely valuable and helped out massively. Thanks to their feedback and a tonne of research/ comparison with other artists, I have now significantly improved my EPK website (electronic press kit) as suggested. The EPK now has a solid structure and consistent aesthetic, ready to be expanded and edited for any future releases. The song Habits is based around the theme of mental health and includes my own experiences of overcoming obstacles associated with depression and anxiety. I also teamed up with local Bristol graphic design artist Will Bertram whom I previously collaborated with during my last project 'Modern Life.'
