Happy Monday

  • Emma Burns
Brief:
With an increasing number of mental health conditions, people need to be
aware of mental illness and how they can prevent it. Encourage the public to take care of their mental health, using any appropriate media.
Concept:
Monday mornings are unpopular and proven the most depressing time of the week. 50% of employees are late, it is the day of most suicides and heart attacks. Which can be due to the stress of returning back to work after the weekend. This would be a good time for an intervention, as people will be likely to change their behaviour to improve their Monday mornings.
Solution:
A campaign to change perceptions of Monday being a mundane start of the weekly routine, to it being a fresh start,by inspiring people to make the most of it. It uses a logo that features a smile, and yellow which is scientifically a happy colour. The main touch point uses volunteers in public spaces handing out bananas because they contain serotonin, which boosts happiness. There is a guide to educate people about the importance of taking care of their mental health and tips on how to be happier. The public can also use the hashtag on social media
to share banana smile selfies to spread the happiness.
