Hauntingly Beautiful

Hauntingly Beautiful explores the exquisiteness and importance of coral reefs and the greater threat they face today, focussing on coral and invertebrates as visual stimuli. Coral reefs are among the most biologically diverse ecosystems on the planet, vital for life in the ocean and for many communities, and due to coral bleaching a lot of them are perishing. When the brightly coloured coral die they are stripped of their colour and go completely white, they may appear beautiful but are hauntingly tainted. I have created a collection for luxury womenswear, made up of digital and hand printed silks with laser engraving details to capture this.
