Sky News needed to launch their new Arabic language radio station across the UAE. Owing to Emirati legal restriction and political sensitivity using photographs of people featured on the news was not possible.

The solution was to combine a visual trick with a single headline that could be used on different media. 

The headline “Have you heard the news?” paired perfectly with a series of visuals which made use of  sound waves to form illustrations of everything from political leaders to the stock market.

This technique appeased legal’s concerns and embodied the message that Arabic language news now had a new home on the radio. 
In print we used conductive ink to bring our message to life. Ads featured famous political speeches and radio news clips that resonated with our local target audience.
At malls interactive installations allowed consumers to listen to iconic newsreels via a 3D printed sound wave.
