The images are bold and graphic, bringing the novel as a whole into a more contemporary and modern era. I used this bold yellow as the primary colour in reference to Marlow and his crew being in the 'yellow' of the Congo River. I paired this with some colours found in traditional African art and sculpture to help a reader associate the images with the Congo. The textures used on these images help create a grunge feel and incorporates the darker themes of the novel without being too heavy.
