Hemingway

Hemingway is a concept travel app, that allows readers to connect with books or authors they love via a city or location. The app pin-points locations where an author or character famously interacted in a city, creating a physical and personal experience within the traveller and their favourite book.

The Problem

Ben, an avid traveller, expressed frustration when travelling abroad. If he's lucky, the host where he stays at will show him around. However, most of the time he has no internet connection and has to explore the locations by himself, often missing key points in a city.
His only companion on such occasions are the handful of books that he carries around, where he likes to get lost in them, whilst at the same time, funnily enough, getting lost in a city.

The Solution

What if you were walking down the streets of Barcelona at night, and you suddenly get a notification on your phone, telling you that Ernest Hemingway (yes, this is how I named the app) once got drunk at a bar round the corner? Would you like to go?
The Hemingway App is a travel app in which the user can download a city prior to visiting it, in which key literary points connected to authors, books and characters are displayed in a map, allowing the user to interact with them. Moreover, the user is allowed to walk the same streets his or her favourite author walked or sit in the same bench where a loved character in a book sat down to view the city.
