The Henley Women’s Regatta is the premier regatta for women in the UK. Held on the rowing world’s iconic stretch of the River Thames, it offers exciting, competitive match racing for over 1,500 competitors each year.
In recognition of 2017 being HWR’s 30th Regatta, their brand look and website needed to be updated.
I was the lead designer on this complex project. The website needed to withstand high traffic and display complex results trees and timetables, as well as have 3 stages depending on the time of year: dormant, during and after the event, where relevant content can be switched on and off dependant on the requirements at the time.
The colour palette takes inspiration from the striped blazers worn by the event organisers and past victors; this stripe also became a graphical feature which was used across the site and collateral.
