Hermes (Local Free Press)

  • Adelinda Lo Sardo
In 2007, while I was still attending my University studies, I'd been chosen as the right candidate for a Internship in a new born, free press newspaper. During the first 3 months I had to follow interesting tasks as, following new clients/investors, screening new candidates' CV and developing, along with the chief editor, the layout of the product.
Together with the Executive Account, I learnt how to deal with clients and budget, but most important, I had the chance to dive directly into the Journalism field. In 3 months we managed to have enough investors to publish the 1st issue across a small central local area (6.000 copies).
The second issue was released on a bigger area (10.000).
During the following months I had the pleasure to have my personal column, where I wrote about fashion and lifestyle, shooting my own pictures and creating a small circle of personal contacts.
Copies of Hermes are still available (paper version) in Italian with attached an English translation.
