We had to find our heroes and draw a portrait of them to which shows the background of the person. I chose Ernest Cole whom took photos of the apartheid in South Africa to show the utter horror in which black people lived. I chose this man because I myself am South African, white, and so I felt the connection (because I wanted to bring it to light and to show the emotions that brought forward from that time [though it doesn't affect me since I wasn't around at that time]). heh.
