About me
My name is Lisa Kerr, and I am a Illustrator. I am based in Cumbria, by the fantastic Lake District in the UK!
My hobbies include drawing, gaming (especially Sims - and now Fallout 4) and looking at interesting things on the Internet. I do enjoy photography, and keen to learn more to improve my skills, I'm also interested in sewing/making clothes with my sewing machine and DIY projects with arts and crafts.
Projects
- HeroesWe had to find our heroes and draw a portrait of them to which shows the background of the person. I chose Ernest Cole whom took photos of the apartheid in South Africa to show the utter horror in which black people lived. I chose this man because I myself am South African, white, and so I felt the connection (because I wanted to bring it to light and to show the emotions that brought forward from that time [though it doesn't affect me since I wasn't around at that time]). heh. PLEASE TAKE NOTE
- Penguin Book CoversThis project was to make book covers for Penguin books. My chosen book was "A Clockwork Orange" by Anthony Burgess. I wanted to get across the emotional distress the character was in, and what he caused, I also wanted to hint at the mysteriousness and depth to the book and to not sure my idea of the character as if not to colour over someone else's thoughts to how he appeared. I also designed the typography to suit the book cover, using my knowledge on Graphic Design

Though I do enjoy the work here, I would love to get into the illustration profession I'm seeking after university.
